A story for Xixi, Douding, and every beloved companion who continues to live in our memories.

For Xixi

The little white poodle I never got to say goodbye to.

Xixi shared five wonderful years with me.

Life changed after my child was born, and I could no longer give him the freedom and attention he deserved.

Hoping he could have a happier life, I found a family in the countryside with a yard where he could run freely.

I always thought I would bring him back one day. But life moved on, and somewhere along the way, we lost contact.

I never got to say goodbye. But when I see the old ornament of him in my car, he does not feel gone. He feels close.

They stay quietly with us, in the little things we choose to hold onto.

For Douding

Douding is another dog in my family.

I brought her home when she was small enough to fit in my hands.

Today, she is twelve years old. She walks a little slower, sleeps a little longer, and reminds me every day that time with those we love is precious.

Xixi taught me that memories can stay with us forever. Douding reminds me to cherish every moment while we still can.

DearlyPaw was created to help pet parents preserve the memories of their beloved companions, no matter where life takes them.
